Then, recently, rumors began to circulate that this release date could in fact be delayed again, with concerns growing that the film may not hit theatres until 2022. ![]() The film was initially slated for an October 2020 release but was ultimately delayed until October 2021. The road to the release of this highly-anticipated new instalment has not been an easy one, with the movie suffering a number of push-backs along the way due to COVID-19. The sequel will also feature a strong supporting cast including the likes of Woody Harrelson, Naomie Harris and Michelle Williams, with Andy Serkis directing. Venom 2 will see the return of Hardy as journalist Eddie Brock. The events of the first film saw Brock become infected with an alien symbiote, Venom, who causes Brock's entire life to descend into chaos. The sequel to the highly successful Venom, set within Sony's Spider-Man Universe, is just a few weeks away from its official release.
